Interesting times

Things seem to be snowballing lately, not the sort of rut I was used to. One cool thing that I did on Monday was take the day off. Now normally this is a good thing in an of itself but this was an especially great one. First I went and had a 2.5 hour breakfast with 2 of my best friends. The conversation was excellent and I appreciated just being able to relax and say anything that came to mind and not be judged or rebuked for it. This is something that happens much to rarely. I will remember that meal for a long time.

Then Monday afternoon we went to the Boise Open golf tournament. It was one of the coolest things I have ever done. With only a couple thousand people there at the beginning and nine thousand at the end the intimate feeling of the event was phenominal. The 6 golfers were world class. Literally. Anika Sorenstam, Juli Inkster, Paula Creamer, Natalie Gublis and Jason Gore. WOW! At one point as they were walking off the 18th green I was 6 inches away from a Hall of famer and the #1 womens golfer in the world. How many people can say that? In addition to all that did I mention it was all free? We will be going back next year for sure.

I appears that I may have an oppurtunity presented to me in the next couple of weeks. Moving into our church parsonage and taking care of cleaning and maintenance for our church building. I do have some reservations but it is hard to argue with free rent and $300 per month salary, representing over $10,000 per year in additional income. This would let me pay off all of my debt and save enough for a down payment on a house within 5 years. This could turn out to be a very good thing but I am sure that there will be a price to pay as well. At this point I am wondering how high that price will be.

Damn it, I meant to judge and rebuke you. It will not happen again.
